The DAVID FOREST Sunday Serenade

HAPPY SPRING HOLIDAYS and welcome to the first edition of my SUNDAY SERENADE. I couldn’t sit back any longer. I may be 60 … and I may still have a little bit longer before I can jump back into the talent mgmt. business (yes, I’m bored with just my “private meeting” business) … but that doesn’t mean I can’t share my views, endorse the stars, clubs, studios, etc. that I BELIEVE IN, draw on my 40 + years of relationships and experience in both mainstream AND adult entertainment show business to offer up a fun, critical, factual weekly serenade. I’m open to ideas for syndicating this page OR maybe even presenting it via video or TV. I’m glad to hear your ideas at 818/904-1862.

SO, without further ado, away we go!

With Micky’s finally re-opening and their 13 year, “Cocktails with the Stars,” program re-igniting next Thursday night, April 23 (6pm, don’t dare miss this) … we’ve finally got some star power energy to get the gay adult business back on the “artist reigns supreme” focus. Hell, with Lucas doing his “Lucas,” again … at the GAYVN AWARDS this year (that Janice Dickinson didn’t help either … well, she probably helped sell tickets … but, for $30K she was a sloshed mess) … and The Advocate doing their best to upset everyone with an article called, “Porn Panic” … we need to stop bellyaching and get back to the good old days, where this was FUN.

If I could reach MARK DALTON … maybe he’d be willing to help us out. It appears, however, that he may just not want to continue in the adult business. I think he could be a giant star if he’d consent to doing gay sex on film. He already does LIVE shows better than anyone ever has (sorry, Jeff … it’s just NOT about letting folks work over a big/greasy dick at the end of the show) … and, he photographs unbelievable. The answer to our troubles lies in the stars (those too). The Stars are what run Hollywood’s film and music worlds. I’m determined to get the adult stars back in control of the gay adult film & live worlds.

By the way, I loved that the folks at The Advocate used a RandyBlue photo of TONY CAPUCCI as the first image for their 6 page piece, “Porn Panic” report. TONY is such a major star … too bad he doesn’t want to do any more film stuff (just LIVE and PRIVATES). Speaking of “privates” … TONY is in NYC for work (privates) until this Tuesday, April 14. I never worked with or knew JACK WRANGLER … but … he WAS a superstar. Sad to hear about his passing. We need MORE superstars. We need the stars to get back their position as THE REIGNING KINGS (queens?) of the business.

CONGRATS to JASON PITT for winning The Hookies “Best Newcomer” award. He’s such a cutie. Reminds me of a “together,” BILLY BRANDT. Did you see Billy in that Chi Chi Trailblazer acceptance video? He looked amazing back then (his first weeks in the XXX biz, 9 years ago). This “Pitt” has put his career in the hands of my “boy wonder,” JASON SECHREST and Jason’s new management firm, DV8 Casting. Congrats, Jason. Hope you enjoy the adult management world. Jason is handling some very hot “new” kids … including a favorite of mine, BEAU MARCUS, who we are handling for his “private meetings.”

I don’t think it’s a big secret that Ms. Forest is smitten with the fabulous, DEMPSEY STEARNS. Though our relationship has been primarily “social” … I do “coach” this upcoming star and I think he’s really catching on (slowly). He and JASON PITT have a sizzling scene in the upcoming JetSet film, “5 Easy Way To Fuck A Straight Guy.” Those 2 gorgeous boys, with their heads of hair like no others … will really light up that movie. I think Chris Steele (you do know that I was Chris’s “handler” for some of his crucial years in the business, right? ) now has ONE SCENE on-line … for streaming. It’s NOT the Jason/Dempsey scene. Dirty Boy Pictures did a solo shoot with my shaggy dog in NYC. It’s hot. Dempsey also told me tonight that he’s talking about having his own LIVE CAM deal at a very popular hook-up site. Dempsey’s priority right now is his college education. He’s loving being an “L.A. College Freshmen.” He is going to attend the Micky’s COCKTAILS kick-off this Thursday. He’s hoping to do a COCKTAILS night if there’s a FOREST month.

The L.A. gay nightclub scene will really begin the fireworks this week. In addition to Micky’s COCKTAILS re-launch, I just saw where they will have their famous, “Latin Night” every Thursday after COCKTAILS. And, just a few doors down the street … if you prefer Mid-East boys … ELEVEN now features “Club Nur” on Thursday nights. It’s going to be an all-out game of “promotion” to see WHO gets the big crowds mid-week in WeHo. Also in L.A/Weho there’s the Sechrest Numbers thing on Wednesdays (they’ve even got it as an 18+ night AND no cover). Unfortunately he goes right up against my new buddy, Paul Nichols and Jason’s pal, Chi Chi … and their “Garage” night at here lounge. The former Anthony Lopez night is now being produced by Paul … with sponsorship from Chi Chi’s new boutique. She’ll also be DJing there once in a while .. . as she does for Nichols on Saturday nights at here (“Red”). That girl (Ms. LR) is an amazing worker. We’ll see how it all goes. I hope everyone makes bucks. The only bar that didn’t seem very publicized was MJ’s (in Silverlake). BUT … I hear that Anthony Lopez has some BIG deal cooking for his Friday nights. AND, it’s something that NO ONE has really done before … on an ongoing monthly basis. Stay tuned. Anthony’s a sharp cookie. He’s always had great promotions.

Funny … when Micky’s had to shut down (fire) … everyone wanted to get in on the act and find a way to do a “Cocktails” type series (gay porn stars up close). Hell, at one point, Sechrest was promoting that he had FIVE NIGHTS each week with porn stars at different venues. Chi Chi had her Fubar thing (that’s gone), here lounge and Mj’s had their nights … then, some restaurant below Factory started doing Thursday nights with a porn headliner. Guess what? All of that has SHUT DOWN NOW … making way for Micky’s to return on Thursday nights with COCKTAILS and have NO OTHER similar type event, anywhere, all week. So cute how Sechrest has the Thursday night Micky’s event on HIS “personal appearance schedule.” To see BOTH of my protégés on that red carpet will be fun (Angel Benton, new Micky’s co-host, who claims that I’m one of the reasons he’s even in the business … greeting former Micky’s host, Sechrest). I got Sechrest the hosting job there, years ago, when Chi Chi’s folks pulled out of an entire month of sponsored Thursday nights … stars, hosts, everything … and, it was all a big mis-understanding. But … I became Micky’s Messiah for putting the Thursday nights back together.

Supposedly there was an inquiry to Micky’s about letting someone at some venue in Ft. Lauderdale create a “Florida” version of the world famous series. AND, of course, the folks in Florida probably didn’t offer millions of dollars to mimic what Mary Ann, Dennis & my buddy, Jason have created over the years (the name is trademarked).

Each week I hope to be able to have a little “piece” about someone that I think is SPECIAL. For this first “Serenade” I’ve written about my dear friend, JACK RYAN.

He Didn’t Even Want To Be An Adult Star

JACK was a "normal" kid from Northern California that, 10 years ago, ended up on the cover of Freshmen's Calendar. He was ideal. He's never really cherished the "film" part of the gay adult biz .... much preferring the "private meeting" business which he's always enjoyed. At one point, with Falcon's help, he stopped working as a performer and worked full-time as the still cameraman's assistant.

JACK remains close friends with his mentor, CHAD DONOVAN, though their relationship has always been "tough love."

JACK has lived, back and forth, between SF and LA for years. When he gets tired of one, he moves back to the other.

Through thick and thin, JACK and I have remained close friends. Probably because we try and just have a personal friendship ... not doing much business, together. I'm sort of a "secret adviser" to him.

I introduced Jack to RAGING STALLION years ago. He did just a film or 2 for them. Many years later, on his own, he agreed to be a RS Exclusive. That lasted about 9 months.
